About Me

Adam Barsby was born in Leicester in 1969. After graduating in illustration at The Kent Institute of Art and Design with a first class honours degree in 1992, he began his artistic career as a freelance illustrator. At the same time in worked in galleries in and around London. This is where he saw painting and fine art as a vehicle not only to finance himself but as a means to express his creativity.

Since turning fully professional in 1996, Adam has been awarded a number of accolades which include Best Up and Coming Artist of the year 2000, by the Fine Art Trade Guild, and no less than 3 nominations for Best Published Artist in the UK. In 2016 he won the national competition and a one year contract by the homewares company Wraptious, which now sees his designs on many interior furnishings.

Over the recent Years, Adam has concentrated his artistic skills on capturing his childhood memories. Growing up in the 70s and 80s he looks back at a time where playing out on the streets with friends was the norm. Chopper bikes, old cars and impromptu football matches feature heavily as be recalls a more innocent time hanging out with mates and (a few) girlfriends!
